Artist's Comments

shot at elbow beach on the 4th of july... took a while for me to figure out what to do with this one... :D

I added warmth to the picture. I think that was a good idea because it softened the overexposed areas as this was a very long exposure... also a nice effect for a summer shot...

I like that the photo has movement , and as well your choice to warm it up a bit . The warmth helped ensure the fireworks look more pronounced and not washed out .I think it's hard to get a good firework photo! I could feel myself there ! looked like fun :-) One thing I like about you Peter is your willingness to reach out of the box and play with different styles, captures, tones and ideas. I'm always trying out new things myself. Keeps it fresh . Good shot Peter.

What must the caterpillar do that it may one day fly?

First off, thank you for the nice feedback. It's always appreciated!!!

As for fireworks shots, I think the interest lies outside the fireworks (as beautiful as they are, they can become common quite quickly)... so including the surroundings I think adds interest... in fact, I wanted a shot of only the people's faces looking at the fireworks but didn't get the chance... something to try next time!

Trying new things is what keeps up learning right? :D
Thanks again!
